He will present: “Generation Interplay Between Wind, Solar, and Hydro Power During Cyclone Passage”

This session will explore:

  • What a mid-latitude cyclone is (i.e., a low-pressure center)
  • Typical locations of wind, rain, and clouds relative to a low center
  • Variations in wind, hydro, and solar renewable energy production during cyclone passage

About the Speaker:

Professor Roland Stull is Chair of the Atmospheric Science Program and a Professor of Atmospheric Science at The University of British Columbia. He also serves as Director of the Weather Forecast Research Team (WFRT), where his research focuses on advancing numerical weather prediction for societal benefit. His areas of expertise include atmospheric boundary layers, turbulence, dispersion, and air quality.
